Welcome to

Shodoshima Great Kannon

There are times in life when you feel like stopping.

When you feel lost, tired, or with feelings that you can't put into words,

There are times when you just want to lean on someone...

In the soft sunlight of Shodoshima,

The large Kannon Bodhisattva will welcome you,

and your loved ones, without asking any questions.

As a couple, as lovers, as parents and children, as a family

Time spent together, connecting our hearts and confirming our feelings,

is more precious and irreplaceable than anything else.

Standing here together, together,

is a prayer that deepens our bonds.

Next

It's okay to cry. It's okay to be confused.

Here, all your feelings will be gently received.

Enveloped in warmth,

the heart of one person, the bond between two people,

the warmth of family,

will gently unravel.

Next

A place you'll want to return to and say "I'm home."

A place that makes you feel nostalgic even though it's your first time here.

Visiting with a special someone

A place that becomes even deeper and warmer.

That's Shodoshima Daikannon.

On this island of happiness, Shodoshima,

Together with Kannon,

we look forward to welcoming you.

Today, we hope that you and your loved ones will be gently protected.

May the hearts of those you love be protected.
